There's a big difference between a yard that looks maintained and one that looks sharp. Mulching is one of those services that seems simple on the surface - but when it's done right, the whole property just clicks. Rich color, clean lines, beds that look intentional. That's exactly what we were going for here.
This property had a lot going on - wraparound porch, a stone facade, ornamental shrubs, flowering trees, the works. The beds wrap around the entire front of the home, so there was no cutting corners. Every section needed to be filled evenly with fresh dark mulch, right up to the edges of the walkway and lawn line. The goal was a consistent, finished look across all of it.
What makes a mulch job look polished is the detail work. Getting the depth right so it looks full without burying the plant bases. Keeping the edges where the mulch meets the lawn looking defined. Making sure the coverage is smooth and uniform - no thin spots, no piling. It's the kind of thing that's easy to overlook until it's done poorly.
Beyond the looks, fresh mulch does real work. It holds moisture in the soil, cuts down on weeds, and protects root systems. So while the curb appeal is the immediate payoff, your plants are also getting something out of the deal.
A home like this deserves to be presented well. The architecture draws the eye, and clean, dark beds framing those beds and that porch make everything around it look better by comparison. That's the result we're always chasing - a yard that looks like someone actually cares about it.
